Poetry Fishbowl Report for Tuesday, October 4, 2011

October's theme was "ghosts."  A flood of prompts arrived early, continuing for about half the day, and eventually petering out.  That was plenty to keep me busy.  There were 119 comments including mine.  I worked from noon to 11:15 PM, so about 9 hours 15 minutes allowing for breaks.  I wrote 23 poems.  Most were free verse, though I wrote one sonnet and one poem in rhymed couplets.  A majority were medium, plus one short and two epics.

New activity was very enthusiastic this time.  Welcome new prompters DW user whatawaytoburn, DW user jjhunter, lilfluff, e_scapism101, ariestess, viva_la_topknot, ravan, rix_scaedu, clare_dragonfly, and mdlbear.  You have them to thank for the extra freebie poem.  Linkbacks also went well, completing the perk poem "Salt and Pepper," which I have reposted in full on my blog.  Thanks to aldersprig for running the perk post, and to my_partner_doug for running the ticker, during the fishbowl this month

We reached the $200 goal for an extra series fishbowl.  The poll selected Monster House as the series.  The mid-month fishbowl will take place on Tuesday, October 18.  Everyone is eligible to participate.

If you plan to sponsor some poetry but haven't made up your mind yet, read the list of unsold poems from October.  That includes the title, length, price, and the original thumbnail description for the poems still available.

The currently sponsored poems have all been posted.  Backchannel copies of the rest have been sent to the various prompters.  You can go vote in the generally sponsored poetry poll.

The October perk-post is "Literary Mood."  We had a lot of donors this month: Steven Laird, fireun, marina_bonomi, rix_scaedu, mdlbear, technomage, clare_dragonfly, tuftears, janetmiles, laffingkat, the_vulture, ladyqkat, lilfluff, and Shirley & Anthony Barrette.  Welcome to new donors Steven Laird, fireun, rix_scaedu, clare_dragonfly, and lilfluff.  They're partly responsible for the extra freebie poem.  Thank you all for your support.
