Poetry Fishbowl on Tuesday, August 16

This is an advance announcement for the Tuesday, August 16, 2011 Poetry Fishbowl.  The extra series fishbowl comes as a perk from the August 2 fishbowl reaching the $200 goal.  An audience poll selected "Monster House" as the poetic series to be featured.  I'll be soliciting ideas for family members, their monster housemates, in-laws, other people who interact with them, household items, magical artifacts, quirks about the house, other preternatural locations in the area, personal conflicts or challenges, side scenes from previous events, everyday issues transmuted into urban fantasy versions, and poetic forms in particular.

If you're interested, mark the date on your calendar, and please hold actual prompts until the "Poetry Fishbowl Open" post next week.  This fishbowl is open to everyone, but I'm not actively  promoting it away from my blog, because I think it will make more sense to people who are already familiar with Monster House and the fishbowl project in general.

Poem: "An Arm and a Leg"

This poem came out of a discussion with viva_la_topknot and other folks, regarding the role of handicapped characters.  It is presented here as a perk for votes in the fishbowl analysis poll.  Thank you all for your feedback!  You can read more about the Clockwork War series on the serial poetry page.  (Note: this poem contains some vulgar language under stress.)

Aether Dancer Contest Finalists

Two actors have been chosen to compete for a character role in the steampunk show Aether Dancer.  Read about Ryan Fischer and Luke Marty on the blog.  You can show your support for one or the other by making a donation on the IndieGoGo page; one dollar counts as one vote.  Vote early, vote often!  (The project has 11 days left.)  The actor who earns the most for the show will get the role, thus letting fans indicate who they really want to see more of.
