Stories from Aldersprig

The sex/gender call for prompts from aldersprig is producing a flood of fascinating stories.  There are different ones here on LiveJournal and over on Dreamwidth too.  If you like genderfic at all, you really want to go read these; and throw something into the tip jar for the giraffe sale if you can spare it.  More fiction like this makes the world a better place.

Monday Update 8/8/11

These are some posts from the later part of last week, in case you missed them:

These posts all relate to this month's fishbowl, which was wildly successful.  Please visit the analysis post and vote in the poll; a few more votes will get you a free epic poem, "An Arm and a Leg."

Poem: "The Canticle of Days"

There will be an extra Poetry Fishbowl on Tuesday, August 16 focused on the serial Monster House.  It will probably run for about half a day, afternoon and evening.  This is a perk from the August 2 fishbowl.

There are five epic poems in microfunding: "The Accidental Hero" follows Aldornia and Zenobia when one of Aldornia's relatives unexpectedly appears in the Temple of Golden Light.  "Stained" finds Johan, a former paladin of Gailah, in trouble in front of the last person he ever wanted to see again.  "Fiorenza and the Witch-Son" features Fiorenza the Italian herbalist musing about social roles and gender dynamics, at a time when there is NOT a major preternatural crisis going on.  "Igor's Creature" is a mix of horror and science fiction with a large helping of sociology and a wry twist of humor.  The epic poem "A Periodic Table of Elementals" is ahead of production.  Note that "The Accidental Hero," "Stained," and "Fiorenza and the Witch-Son" have all been gaining verses, so check those if you haven't done so recently.

Torn World writing update:

This has been a busy week.  Much of it was taken up processing the very successful fishbowl.  We also visited the country fair and went out for supper with relatives.
