Torn World Muse Fusion is open!

The July Muse Fusion is now live over in torn_world.  Please drop by and give us some prompts.  Not sure what to suggest?  Try browsing characters or cultures on the Torn World site.  Note that this Muse Fusion will be running all the way through Monday, and closing on Tuesday morning, in hopes of catching some spillover traffic from the LiveJournal Spotlight on crowdfunding which starts July 18.  You've got a little extra time to stretch your creativity this month.

What I've Done

A poem about ghosts/anomalies, posted as this session's freebie.

"Beached Fish"
The bear bead sketched by ellenmillion inspired "Beached Fish," a story about Vlaran and a frenzy of bears during the summer fish run (as described in her CIS).
2,981 words, Buy It Now = $30 OR 30 Torn World credits

"Red Glass, Green Glass"
A poem about two rangers of Itakith who find themselves in love without a bead handy.
24 lines, Buy It Now = $5 or 5 Torn World credits

"Hide Away"
A poem written in rhymed, metered quatrains. It warns the people of the rainforest tribes to hide when outsiders draw near.
16 lines, Buy It Now = $5 or 5 Torn World credits

"The Ibabesh Bridge"
A poem of five rhyming verses, talking about different types of bridges and how Ibabesh is the best.
35 lines, Buy It Now = $7.50 or 8 Torn World credits

A traditional maritime hobby involves etching images onto bone or ivory. "Scrimshaw" is written in double-rhymed envelope quatrains. It looks at this hobby from a warsailor perspective.
16 lines, Buy It Now = $5 or 5 Torn World credits

"Bitter Herbs"
A couplet-rhymed poem describing these Southern herbs and their uses.
12 lines, Buy It Now = $5 or 5 Torn World credits

"Reaching for the Moons"
A short story, just over 2,800 words at present. Denel and her family visit the Pearly Towers.

"Folly Cards"
Nonfiction describing a Tarot-esque deck of cards. I have the cards and descriptions outlined, just need to polish that stuff; and the article will need more contextual information about the deck and its uses.

Poem: "Colorless"

This poem came from the July 2011 Muse Fusion over in torn_world.  It was prompted by wyld_dandelyon and is posted here as the freebie.  In the Southern Empire, the Others are not known except as "anomalies" which have many names across the different subcultures.  In this poem, the "ghosts" draw their traits both from legend and from these anomalies.

Ghosts have no color.
No one can see them
Floating in the sky,
Swimming through the ground.

Ghosts have no shape.
No one can feel them
Knocking things over,
Scaring people to death.

Ghosts have no size.
No one can stop them
By fencing them out
Or walling them away.

Ghosts have only death.
No one can keep them
From sharing it with everything:
Plants, animals, people.
