 California is the first state to place a ban on styrofoam food containers used for take-out and similar purposes.  It will first affect restaurants and stores, then schools.  A number of cities have already banned such containers, as they take a long time to break down and can harm wildlife.  I'm pleased to see this; there are plenty of other materials for such containers, including paper which can be sustainably produced.
