Support and Opposition for Health Care Reform

I'm annoyed by the propensity of politicians to distort the truth. Often they lie; other times they are just negligently uninformed. This post highlights some of the distortions regarding how many people (a majority) support a public option.

If your position is really any good, you will present it accurately so that it will convince others to adopt it. If you're distorting the truth to sucker people into supporting it, then you don't really believe it's convincing on its own, so they should not support it and you should not be trying to deceive them into doing so.

Hard Things

Life is full of things which are hard or tedious or otherwise unpleasant that need doing anyhow. They help make the world go 'round, they improve skills, and they boost your sense of self-respect. But doing them still kinda sucks. It's all the more difficult to do those things when nobody appreciates it. Happily, blogging allows us to share our accomplishments and pat each other on the back.
