Antiques

It used to be that antique shops used to be run by a single owner, and filled with strange and beautiful old things.  These days, most are mini-malls full of junk.  Recently we found one of the old-fashioned kind.  It had stained-glass windows propped in one corner, marble-topped end tables, chandeliers with art glass, all kinds of goodies.  Look for A. Gridley Antiques in Bloomington, Illinois.

Hmm... we still have the sole-owner antique shops in abundance over here, possibly because we also have specific sole-owner second-hand 'junk' shops, which serve as a filter.

That, and mini-malls never really caught on here.
