Poem: "The Other Truck"

This poem was inspired by a prompt from janetmiles.  It was sponsored by rix_scaedu.  In case you're not familiar with it, you can read more about haggis online.

The Other Truck

A squall of accordion music blares from the speakers
as the Bad Humor truck turns the corner.

The bogeyman and the lurking shadow
scramble to grab wooden nickels
out of the jar on the coffee table.

Soon they are arguing cheerfully
over whether to split a bowl of haggis
or each get their own skewer of garlicy brussels sprouts
while the air fills with the scent of liver and onions.

The golem in front of Naomi's house bounces impatiently on his toes.
