Yes...

>>We don't have Good Humor trucks where I come from so the name alone doesn't bring up associations for me.<<

It's a popular service that takes frozen treats through neighborhoods. We never had one either -- but my grandmother's neighborhood had a snowcone truck that I adored. It had a bell that rang, instead of playing music.

>>On the other hand, the golem bouncing impatiently on his toes...<<

Yeah, I was surprised and amused to see that pop up.

Re: Yes...

Where we went for the summer/Christmas holidays (same holiday - I'm currently in spring) there were Mr Whippy vans that sold icecreams and played "Greensleeves".

Re: Yes...

That is so cute.

And yes, I have several friends in Australia, New Zealand, etc. who are reversed seasonally from me -- we really enjoy each other's gardening posts for contrast. Where are you located?

Re: Yes...

That's cool! I like Australia. It's an interesting place to study. I'm subscribed to a Dreamwidth community for Australian gardening, just because I like looking at the pictures. The gorgeous flowers, the colorful birds, the spiders the size of salad plates...

Re: Yes...

I only get huntsman spiders whose leg span makes them as big as my hand. Oh, and the poisonous ones that live in holes in the ground in my garden.
(If you ever come to this part of the world do not ever stick your finger in a finger sized hole in the ground to see what is in there.)

Re: Yes...

Actually, I never put my hands or other body parts anywhere I can't see. My instincts are quite determined about that point. All kinds of unpleasantness can lurk in holes.

The stick is your friend!
