Halloween and the Isness of Being

For most people, Halloween is a once-a-year opportunity to pretend to be something they're not.  Other folks do that all the time, because what they are is inexpressible or awkward to express or downright dangerous  to express.  [personal profile] teafeather elegantly describes this effect from the perspective of being an asexual trans* person.  Believe me, I know a lot of folks for whom much the same applies, for quite a wide range of different traits and natures.

If you only pretend to be something you're not for one day a year ... count your blessings.
