Cold Fusion

This page describes a cold fusion process involving nickel and hydrogen, releasing a lot of heat energy.  The waste product is ... copper, a useful raw material.  The results seem to be replicable.  It would be really cool for this to pan out.  I'll keep an eye on this.

it would appear that after some technical problems the 1Mw demo plant discussed there is up and running grid independent. So I'd call that one to watch.
