Below is an excerpt from "When the Wind's Teeth Sing," a Torn World story that I'm currently revising. It will eventually be submitted for canon board approval.
The chimes rang delicately against each other, not with any particular pattern, but with a charm all their own. The tone sounded sweeter than glass yet brighter than onyx. Rai reached out a hand to find long slats of something mixed with strands of tiny squares, and below, little conical shapes with clappers to make bells.
"What are these made from?" he asked.
"Deathfin fangs," said Gralein. "The bottom bells are cut from the tips, and the chimes from the sides."
