Yes, the almost human aspect is creepy.

But please, do not think I am scolding you, or that I do not enjoy this series. I was quite surprised to learn that the concept of a hollowed out body horrifies me.

It is certainly a way to handle the 2.5 children myth...

I'm not overly concerned, just want to make sure that I don't cause undue mayhem. Usually the dark stuff that's likely to seriously creep people out is obviously so from the beginning. Unexpected yikes can be worse.

Yeah, that's part of what gave me the idea. I had this little mental list of things that are cited as "normal" and that one just meshed perfectly with this particular bit of folklore.
