I was thinking there might be *quite* a bit of bumpiness after the time machine incident, given that before that the mother thought the grandmother was senile. How do you bring up a topic like that twenty or thirty years overdue, with all the misunderstandings they've been dancing around or tripping over all that time?

(And before the lab visit was posted, there was the possibility that none of the grandmother's devices used to work, and the daughter somehow/accidentally made them functional, but that seems much less likely now.)

Hmm...

I think there must have been something going on with Grandma's inventions. It's possible that she was working with far-out stuff that took many years to get right. It's also possible that she simply didn't show her family the ones that worked, for whatever reason. I haven't put together all the pieces of this yet; she seems inclined to hide things.

I'll ponder how they might try to smooth out their relationship.
