Torn World: Read "One Toy for Three"

Supporters can now read my story "One Toy for Three" in Torn World.  This story came out of the February 25, 2011 Muse Fusion. It was inspired by a prompt from comtessa. It can be sponsored for $9.25 or 9 Torn World credits.

When there is only one toy for them to play with, how will Karavai, Tekura, and Ularki keep each other entertained?

This is the teaser excerpt for the story:

"Why is Ularki crying?" asked Tekura as sat down to cuddle his age-mate.

Leldor, the older boy in charge of cleaning up the child-house today, spread his hands and shrugged. "Well, Imamom took most of the cloth toys; she said the sewers wanted to mend them today. Then Amarv and Jeruq grabbed the stuffed silk-hare, since they wanted to rest between chores," he said, tipping his head toward the dark-haired boy who sat on a bunk with another girl. "That only left one of the puppets..."

"... and Ularki doesn't like puppets, because they aren't as cuddly and she doesn't really know what to do with them, so she started crying," Tekura concluded. At twelve summers, Leldor was an excellent cleaner but not much of a raiser.

"Quick, give me the puppet," Karavai said to Leldor. "I have an idea."
