Read "Words Between Brothers" in Torn World

If you are a Torn World supporter, you can now read my short story "Words Between Brothers."  It features my character Rai and ellenmillion's character Bai as boys, playing a game at home.  This story has a far more objective focus than most of what I've written about them.  It's a good glimpse of family life, the challenges and compensations they deal with.

This story came from the February 26, 2011 Muse Fusion. It was inspired by a prompt from vaerys. It can be sponsored for $5.50 or 6 Torn World credits.

There are things they talk about and things they don't. They talk about how much fun it would be to visit the park today. Larama shakes her head. She is too tired from chasing after Alikara, and Jenorv is too sick, and their father Denald is out of town on business. Perhaps another day.

They talk about the contents of their toy chest and what they could do instead of visiting the park. Rai likes to play Tumbling Blocks. Bai likes to play Secret Intrigues. Larama suggests that they compromise and play Partners. Bai fetches the game, a customized set given by their father, and sits back down.

If you like this story and want to see more of these characters, please consider sending me credits or karma through Torn World's crowdfunding options.  Same goes if you like the art; tip the artist. Not a Torn World member, but still want to support the work? I have a permanent PayPal button on my LJ profile page.
