This Is Where the Money Goes

If you're wondering why America is having money trouble, this chart balances recent cuts against recent gifts.  Consider who benefits, and how much, and how many.  Talk about irresponsible spending -- apparently America considers luxuries more important than keeping the lights on and food on the table.

We'd have to address the immense and often undocumented amount of money we throw at the military-industrial complex before we we ever got around to solving the deficit.

So, yea, not gonna happen.
Military spending is overblown, and they're still doing a piss-poor job of actually caring for the troops. Pay is lousy, benefits patchy, and personal equipment not always what it should be. I think those are better places to spend money than the gazillion-dollar nuclear weapons, jets, and some other stuff that blow big chunks of money. If your guys are worn out or poorly prepared, it doesn't matter what gee-whizmos you have, chances are you're going to get your ass handed to you.
