This Is Where the Money Goes

If you're wondering why America is having money trouble, this chart balances recent cuts against recent gifts.  Consider who benefits, and how much, and how many.  Talk about irresponsible spending -- apparently America considers luxuries more important than keeping the lights on and food on the table.

Just as the saying goes, "the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't exist."

Tax breaks are expenditures. Every break and every loophole is money spent. Ask any (legitimate, unbiased) economist.

But they've managed to frame the discussion so that tax breaks are the universal solution to whatever ails the top 1%, and they are completely different from spending money on addressing the crap the rest of us poor lot have to deal with.
