Last Words

I am intrigued by this recently ruling that the last words of a dying person are admissible evidence in criminal prosecution.  I tend to agree.  What do you think?

What it really depends on is the person hearing those last words. Very few people ever die on the witness stand.

How many dying people are in a proper state of mind to be sworn by an officer of the court? Many of them could be under the influence of medications that influence their state of mind, or in horrific pain. There are just as many people in the world who remain malicious and hateful to their dying days as there are those who suddenly wish to become forgiving and truthful. I personally am very doubtful about unsworn deathbed testimony.
