Drakeathon Followup Report

Check out what aldersprig has to say about the Drakeathon livewriting project.  It went really well.  As in, it had the highest ratio of paid to unpaid participants that I've ever even heard of in crowdfunding.  Some stories have been posted, so enjoy the free reading material.

You had, what, about a 75% paid proportion? I can't remember anyone else even making 50%.

Let me check my fishbowl stats, this isn't something I track per se but I can derive it from what I do track...

December: 8 donors, 17 prompters.
January: 10 donors, 22 prompters.
February: 9 donors, 19 prompters.

Huh, that's higher than I thought it was, a little under half. It must be going up. Usually the proportions I see people mentioning are small.

It's hard to pin down what makes a project successful, although some patterns are clear. This would be easier to triangulate if we had another project or two very similar to these. (You mentioned my poetry fishbowl as a key inspiration for your livewriting, if I remember right.) I'll keep watching.
/nods/ it's interesting.

It would be interesting to see stats on the other similar things as well - Djinni's free icon day, people who do art on teenycon for their vet bills (where the Drake icon came from), the person from whom I yoinked the term Livewriting (MCM).
