Does anyone here make and/or collect ACEO cards?

Some of us in Torn World are discussing the possibility of making ACEO cards.  These are little art tidbits for trading or selling, often used as perks.

Is anyone here actively involved in the ACEO movement right now, to answer questions about what the people who are already doing them value?  If we do this, we want to do it in a way the community (or communities) already using them will find respectful.

I have previously toyed with the idea of doing some ACEO cards with my poetry, so I'm intrigued by this.

What exactly are you looking for info wise, yes, my daughter- dragonmyst- are you looking at what is sellable or what? i did do them alot until the economy went south, so have found other avenues for my art, i do pet portraits. I have 2 sites with my art, not necessarily aceo cards-
http://www.robingortonfineart.com or http://featheredbrush.webs.com, i do sell occasionally on ebay. I am also on facebook, http://www.facebook.com/rgart4u

That would be helpful to know, yes. We're likely to do a mix of cards for sales and free promotions, sooner or later.

What kinds of subjects or media do people tend to like?
Are there things that ACEO collectors expect, that we should try to do?
Are they things that are likely to annoy people, that we could avoid?
Do ACEO collectors tend to acquire cards and keep them, or pass them around?
what i did at first was look over what sells on ebay- at the time, parrots, birds of all sorts- lately not much is selling there, but its a good way to get a feel for what sells and what is popular- another place to browse is artcardswanted.com. Once you decide on a subject, be professional when sending them- what i do is send them in padded envelopes, in ziplock bags including a certificate of authenticy(COA), which makes the client happy- basically it says the piece is an original, date, title, medium- and that i retain the copyright-

Also make sure the card is a good representation of your style in art- you will quickly gain a following! What happens like in my case, people like to collect birds, domestic or wild, so i have repeat customers- all it takes is a few that will catch the clients eye, and then they tend to buy what ever you put up- i also discovered sets sell well, say a set of 2 parrots, or 2 blue jays- that way the client feels they are getting a deal- when in reality, the pricing isn't that different- and i send aceo's with free shipping.

ATC is artist trading cards, and aren't sold but traded, ACEO 'art cards editions and originals' and are sold- so if folks are picky that is the difference- it is really a good tool for exposure.
This all looks really useful, especially that website for the cards. I appreciate the help!
