Torn World Seeks Advertising Intern

Torn World is looking for someone to help with promotion.  The advertising intern would run the Facebook page, Twitter feed, and other social networking.  Currently this is unpaid but there are perks, like getting access to the supporters-only material.  It's a nice job credit for a novice wanting to build their resume, too.

UPDATE 1/23/11: This position is crowdfunded; the advertising intern will be able to receive Torn World credits, which can be cashed out for dollars.

Thank you for the signal boost!
This sounds like an interesting job. :) I will be graduating with my bachelors soon, so I will be needing a job eventually, but doing what, I have no idea. With the rise of technology and different ways to promote a business, there are effectively more jobs. :) Interesting.
Try it out and see if you like it. If nothing else, it would be a helpful addition to your resume. You don't have to tell mundane employers the topic if you think they won't appreciate speculative fiction -- just put it down as "website promotion."
That's very true. :) Thanks for sharing! :D
Hi!

Please let us know if you have any questions.
Thank you! I appreciate your help. :) Like I said to ellenmillion, if I had experience marketing/advertising, I would probably consider applying for this job, but I don't. =/ It's good to know my options though. :)
This is the sort of position I could see someone doing full time as a consultant for writers and artists who don't have time/energy/moxy to do it for themselves.

And I'm not sure if it was updated already by the time you saw this entry, but this is a crowdfunded position - the intern would be eligible for credits (virtual dollars which can be cashed out) within the system.

Let me know if you have any questions!
If I had any advertising/marketing experience (plus a history of field work in this particular kind of job) I would probably consider applying for it, but sadly I don't. =/ I read the ad and I don't know if I'm qualified for it. I don't have experiencing promoting and marketing things. Still, I appreciate your assistance and it's good to read about job opportunities like these to know my options after graduation. I am currently a full-time student but will be graduating with my bachelors in May. :) Thank you for informing me more about this. <3
No experience is necessary! We're quite open to enthusiasm and willingness to learn and experiment; as an unpaid resume-builder (even with perks), we're not going to attract people with buckets of experience. :P Check back if you're interested, and congratulations on the pending graduation!
We might also consider starting an intern with one simple thing, rather than a whole job description of all the promotional stuff we want done. That might make it easier for someone new to get the hang of it.
I would also be open to that - or to splitting the position between several people, though it will take some thought to how the perks for that would work out.
Thank you for all your help and I will definitely let you know! Thanks for the congrats! I'm very excited about graduating. :)
