Just after the news hit, one of the more insightful folks I read had predicted that people would try to blame this incident on liberals. Since liberals rarely advocate violence, I am unconvinced.

No. Liberals advocate violence all the time. More in fact than conservatives do, although fractionally. But that could just be perspectives. Anyway, the guy that was described by his classmates as a "left wing extremist", that was a 9-11 truther, etcetera, well... Lets just say that there is ample reason to think that he was not a mccain voter. How often do youy see Che t-shirts? Or Mao? Those are very specific endorsements of genocide and terrorism. Not seeing much in the way of mcveigh t-shirts.

All that said, he was an irrational mentally ill drug addict. Looking for coherent political beliefs will not likely be fruitfull.
