Poetry Fishbowl Report for March 2008

Yesterday's Poetry Fishbowl was quite a success! 9 people posted prompts, a couple of those on communities where I also posted about the fishbowl. Some of the people posting were new participants. There were a total of 32 comments including my replies.

I wrote 18 poems. The freebie was "Fractalife" posted in reply to dianavilliers's photo of a fern frond. Then she and I got into a haiku chain, because she kept posting photos and I kept posting poems. Two poems were sponsored by janetmiles: "Fireworms in Love" and "Waiting for the First Snow." So a total of 6 poems were posted yesterday.

This fishbowl was sponsored by ellenmillion, laturner, and dianavilliers. So that's a total of 4 donors. Thank you all for your patronage! I'll be working up the donor-perk next, so it should appear soon.

Glad to hear it went so well!! Well, okay, I'm guessing that it went well -- in comparison to other Fishbowls, I mean. :)

Criteria I use to determine the success of a fishbowl include:

People posting prompts. (If this doesn't happen, nothing else can happen.)

The amount of poetry I write. (This time I happened to get a lot of short poems, and one very long poem.)

The amount of funds donated, for the fishbowl generally and specific poems. (This has steadily increased since I started including a donation button, which helps justify my time investment.)

Audience feedback. (People usually enjoy what I write.)

ohhh snap! i missed the fishbowl, i would have wanted to join huhuhuhuh well theres always next time right? congratz!

Yes, I usually do a fishbowl once a month, announced in advance. Just watch for the April one! The themes vary too.

I'll be doing a fishbowl this month, but probably not this week. It's a little too close to the previous one. Usually I post a note a few days in advance so people can watch for the fishbowl.
