I thought this might be useful to those of you who have iPhones.

A Field Guide at your Fingertips: Plants & Wildlife of our National Parks

NPCA's new National Park Field Guides provides a view to 50 of our
national parks, their wildlife, and ecosystems. From seashores and
recreational areas to scenic riverways and historic sites, the field guide
mobile app features national parks across the country that support
critical wildlife habitats, including Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Yosemite,
Cape Cod National Seashore, and Gettysburg National Military Park. The
app's core content of wildlife information includes almost 6,000
individual species.

Responses to the app have been positive. Users are excited to have a
handheld device to enhance their national park experience and they
especially like the audio call recordings for birds. Fans of the app have
asked that it be available on more platforms, so we are looking into
developing the National Park Field Guides for the Android Platform. Let us
know if you like this idea! For now, you can download the app or visit the Apple
App Store from your iPhone and search "Park Guides."

Nifty! Thanks for sharing this.
… those of you who have iPhones …

… and are in or even anywhere near the US … ;-p
... that, or planning a vacation here, not that I'd recommend America as a safe destination these days. Those of you living elsewhere may wish to do local research to see if your own national park system has created a similar app.
