Poem: "The Conscience of the King"

This poem came out of the August 3, 2010 Poetry Fishbowl.  It was inspired by prompts from ellenmillion.  We did a barter arrangement for the sponsorship, in which she provided the delightful programming necessary to present this unique poem in its proper form.  It is, in fact, a poetic Tarot reading with a Celtic Cross spread, each verse describing a particular card.  I actually drew most of the cards from the Connolly Tarot to help write this poem, building on the original prompts (the King of Pentacles, a Tarot spread form, and ravens as portents).  It's about the challenges of creating a sustainable business, where you have to balance economic practicalities with environmental/social concerns, in a context where lots of other people are yelling at you.  I'm excited to be able to present the poem to you thanks to ellenmillion's donation of her programming skill and time.  Sometimes technology is just ... made of WIN.

Because the form is a real reading, it's not here on LiveJournal, but over on Ellen Million Graphics -- go there to read "The Conscience of the King."

This is brilliant; the poetry and the programming work together perfectly. Well done, both of you.
Thank you! I'm glad you found it impressive.
That is rather amazing. :)
I'm glad you enjoyed this.
I dig it! You both did an excellent job producing a work that we might not have been able to see otherwise. :)
I'm happy to hear that.
It sounds like such a neat idea!

I am not sure if it is just my laptop, or the Safari browser in general, but I just can't read 7 point white font on a dark green background. The colors I think I could handle if the words were bigger, but at that size it's impossible.

I hope to try on a different browser and operating system tomorrow.
