The Trouble with Israel

For a long time, I've wondered what the devil was wrong with Israel. Starhawk just explained it with bitter precision; and she is of Jewish heritage, so can say this without being accused of anti-Semitism:

The Israel/Palestine conflict enacts on a mass scale some of the same dynamics as family abuse. Israel is like the abused child who grows up to be an abuser.

I think PTSD fits the situation more than family abuse.

Starhawk is not antisemitic. But speaking as someone who's lived in the Middle East, she seems oddly naive.
I think she's more idealistic than naive, but I get where you're coming from.
... you may be right about PTSD. Can't abuse trigger that, though?

I don't think Starhawk is precisely naive -- she's seen a lot of the world -- but she is very much an idealist.
That is an amazing article...

Thanks!
I've always wondered about that.
