The Book Song

While I'm not a Ren & Stimpy fan, I was deeply amused by this parody, which turns the "log" song into a "book" song.

I'm not only not a Ren & Stimpy fan, I'm so unhip I thought the comic was about baby Odin and his pesky eye. :)

But the title reminds me of a completely different "Book Song" by Sandy Denny (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandy_Denny), about a character in a book who comes alive and spends time with her author:

If she knew what I've seen while I'm watching
Would she know where to smile, what to say?
When she leaves from her book to be with me
Where's her mind as she stands while i play?

She left behind names in the pages
And the time she took out, they stayed in
Now she thinks that she maybe should tell them
Of my book and the places she's been

Now she's looking at me while I'm writing
Does she know where to smile, what to say?
When she leaves from her book to be with me
What's she thinking about while I play?

I love this one too!

A fair number of my characters spend time with me outside of stories, though not in material form. It keeps life interesting.
