Globalization has changed some of that. I think the United States is a bit more mixed than presented.

I also think that the "no data" sections of the map are mis-represented, because the folks living in Siberia and in Upper Alaska and Canada, the natives actually have suntanned skins, similar to many other Native American populations.
Perhaps someone else will do an updated version of the map with those considerations. If you find one, let me know, eh?
In the case of the Inuit, the seemingly-unexpected skin tone is related to their diet, which is very rich in vitamin D, eliminating the necessity to produce vitamin D in the skin
Hmmmm, I wonder at what time period the tones were set at. For example, NZ didn't have people until the Maori arrived. Being Polynesian, they are darker than Europeans and wouldn't really be on par with the light skinned countries they are lumped with. However, due to European settlement this is a more plausible possibility if the tones are based on modern times as there are more European descendants (and perhaps some lightening of Maori due to intermarriage with Europeans).
