Annoying Movie Trends

This article nails several trends that make movies look the same.  Most of them are sloppy renditions of a valid technique that works when 1) you know what you are doing, and 2) you are doing it for a story-valid reason.  I was particularly intrigued by the precision of the explanation why some 3D movies suck: if they aren't made that way from the beginning, the process actually degrades the image quality.  Good reason to boycott those.

Yes. This.

I absolutely hate 3-D movies. They give me a splitting headache in addition to, you know, sucking profoundly. The rest is true as well.
I can't watch 3D movies in 3D. My brain disassembles the overlap effect, and yes, it gives me a headache too. I just watch them in 2D. If they are well done like Avatar, it's no problem. But if they are shot in 2D then transposed to 3D, bleah.
