Poetry Fishbowl Report for Tuesday, August 3, 2010

This month's theme was "fortunetelling, forecasts, and futures."  It was selected by the audience in a previous poll.  Prompts came in a slow steady trickle all day, staying just ahead of me much of the time, though I managed to double back and write extra poems for some people who sent multiple prompts.  I worked from noon to 11:45 PM, so about 9 hours 45 minutes, allowing for lunch and supper breaks.

I wrote 24 poems, the most I've written in a fishbowl so far.  They were heavily weighted toward medium-short.  There was only one short, a handful of medium-long and long, no epics.  Almost all of them were free verse and based on a single prompt.  A total of 18 people sent prompts, the most this year.  Welcome to new prompters pocketnaomi, unmutual, and aldersprig!  You have them to thank for the second freebie poem.
