Until We All Can

Thousands of Americans are making the pledge: "I won't marry, until we all can."  This show of solidarity with homosexual couples may help win marriage rights for everyone.  I think this shows more respect for family than the so-called "family values" front.

I agree. I was thinking about doing it too actually, thank you for posting because you just reminded me.
I can't exactly make that pledge, but I can pledge to get married in a country that DOES allow everyone to marry. :P

But I mean seriously, the more egalitarian social system of Germany was a big factor in the "where are we going to live" decision making process.

Germany gets another bean on the "civilized nation" side of the scale.
I really don't see how that does any good. A heterosexual couple getting married doesn't cause any harm to homosexual couples, nor does it benefit anyone involved in maintaining SSM bans. It's effectively boycotting the wedding industry, but, as far as I know, that industry isn't supporting anti-SSM laws (and, I would imagine, are probably pro-SSM, if for no other reason than increasing their customers!)

A boycott should target those who are doing the oppression. For example, companies that support anti-SSM laws.
