Poem: "Taijitu"

This poem was inspired and sponsored by marina_bonomi.  It features the Origami Mage and several principles of oriental philosophy: yin and yang, wuji, and taijitu.

Taijitu

Yin  is cold and wet,
the feminine force of birth,
tranquil yet potent.

Yang  is hot and dry,
the masculine force of death,
focused yet graceful.

Wuji  endures change;
the whole remains unbroken,
dynamic balance.

The paper is black.
The paper is white.  The folds
unite yin and yang.

From a single page,
origami mage creates
shapes of taijitu.

Orca leaps from sea
to tow her folded boat through
high waves and low troughs.

It's wonderful. How it starts from the philosophical principles and then it brings us to the very practical embodiment of those principles our friend the origami mage uses to get out of a troubled spot.

Kudos once again, Elizabeth.
Exactly! I also enjoyed going from the general to the specific.
I'm glad you liked this one!

It has kind of an eastern structure, spiraling around the subject rather than going straight through in western style. I had fun with that.
