It apparently is only taking place in The Maldives,
and not on the initiative of the Maldive government.
And the talks are limited to resolution of Afghanistan's conflict.

I still give them credit for that. Particularly after some other countries have stepped up their anti-Muslim, anti-brown, anti-anyone-but-us behavior. Imagine how inconvenient it would be if the Maldives weren't there and somebody else had to host the talk ... say, if they were underwater...
