Photography: Daffodils and More

Today I got outside for a photo shoot, featuring flowers currently in bloom here at Fieldhaven.

There are many daffodils naturalized around the yard.

These are white with creamy yellow cups.

Hyacinths are also blooming.  This big bumblebee had several smaller bees riding piggyback!

Blue-and-white violets are a favorite wildflower.  We also have purple ones and pale lavender, but I haven't seen those blooming yet.

I have some more photos, including:

* Closeups of darker pink, white, and blue hyacinths
* Closeups of different varieties of daffodils: white, orange-cup, double, etc.
* Ladybug crawling on yellow daffodil
* Blue grape hyacinths
* A daffodil bud overhanging peony sprouts
* Forsythia, close and far
* Raindrops on cedar sprigs

Several artists have posted samples of their sketch pages, with more sketches being available if people want to sponsor some.  I'm trying something similar with photography.  So if you want to see more, $1 will get you two extra photos.  (You can use the PayPal button on my profile page, or contact me for other options.)  Your choice of 1/4 size like these, or full-size; I'll try to remember to put them behind a cut.  Doug's camera seems to be shooting at 1600x1200, and I usually reduce the size to 400x300.  I've tried keying in half-size but it doesn't show up that way.

I'm glad you like them.
yes, superb pix...
Those blue-and-white violets are gorgeous!!
I love wildflowers. We have several colors of violets in our yard.
These are great shots, especially the second!! And I love how you've composed the last one. Great job on these. :)
I enjoy experimenting with different types of framing. Much of what I like to shoot in my own yard consists of nature closeups. Also, our purple violets are blooming now! I saw some yesterday when I went out to feed the cats, but had no time for photos -- and today it's raining. *sigh*
