You may also enjoy the inspirational backstory. A while ago, I got a review copy of yet another "political courtesan" novel, something that's been all the rage for the last several years. Since the back-cover description sounded much like all the others, only less interesting, I chucked it onto the "direct to used-book store" pile ... on top of a bad "lost prince" novel, and I allowed as to how they could just entertain each other instead of wasting my time. Then I got to thinking what a courtesan is really all about, and how that might cause some trouble for a lost prince ... and this story is the result.
