>>Inspiration as an atom, with high and low energy levels.<<

So now I have this poem, "Creativity," which is a cool concept and right now looks like hell because I cannot draw well. It is a shape poem, drawn (badly) to look like an atom. I'll have to try later to see if I can make this come out decently with my scrapbooking stencils or some kind of drawing tools on my computer. Or maybe I should try animating the thing in PowerPoint, since it would look a lot more like an atom if the outer bits were moving. (I've meant to write some animated poems before, but hadn't gotten around to it. Not the first time I've checked off a goal by accident.)

It doesn't have lines, so that also sinks my usual pricing scheme. If I can put it into a salable form, I'll try to price it, particularly if someone expresses interest in it.

Now that you mention it...

I like the idea of a literal moving poem and I'm curious to see how it would turn out. I'm not sure if I'd be able to sponsor the entire poem once it's completed, so I'd probably throw coins into the hat and call for co-sponsors. Would this work?

Re: Now that you mention it...

Sure, calling for cosponsors is fine if the poem turns out to be more than one person can afford. Thank you for your interest!

It looks like I have PowerPoint on this computer, but I've never used it. I believe it's a program that has been used to animate poems. I have no idea if what I have in mind is easy, challenging, or impossible.

If this poem happens to fall into the "impossible to animate" category, I completely understand. Just keep me posted. :)

Oh, it's not impossible to animate -- I've seen other animated poems, and I've seen atom diagrams on the web. The question is whether animating this poem lies within my skill or the skill of someone I can entice to help me with it.

I checked PowerPoint. It does some cool things, and I could probably write poems to take advantage of those things, but it doesn't look like it will do what I need for "Creativity."

So, I'm going to call on the wisdom of LiveJournal and see if someone can come up with a solution. Maybe someone has an atom-modeling program with customizable labels, or writes Java or Flash or whatever. And I know one person who does computer animation.
