My Second Rhysling Nomination: "How the Aztecs Conquered Cortéz"
Tonight I received notice that my poem "How the Aztecs Conquered Cortéz" has been nominated for a Rhysling Award in the long poem category.  It originally appeared in the anthology Vampyr Verse.  This is the first year I have been nominated twice  for the Rhysling -- and because one poem is short and one is long, they are not in direct competition with each other.  Eee, squee!

That sounds like a neat poem, one I haven't read yet. Link please?

Well...

It was published in a hardcopy anthology, not online. Since that book just came out in December, I'm hesitant to compete with it by reprinting the poem so soon.

Re: Well...

Oh, so it's not one of the ones you posted to your LJ? Darn.

Re: Well...

None of those are eligible, unless reprinted elsewhere: the Rhysling Award is crowdfunding-hostile at present. Which is a pity, but that's their business.

If the poem had been published in an online market, I would have linked to it. I'm glad that you want to read it, though!

Congratulations! What a wonderful honour for you! Fabulous!

I sometimes sing The Green Hills of Earth - it's such a lovely song.
