Today
haikujaguar posted a picture of a favorite character, Dlane, returned after a long absence.

Dlane Smug AgainSo I wrote the following poem. The
Cheldzan Jokku is here, a monument to when the Jokka first hit print. It includes a
lexicon for you conlang fans.
Midnight at the Cheldzan
I’ve missed this place.
I haven’t been here for a long time.
In the dark of the night,
the
cheldzan Jokku is quiet.
The coals of a campfire still glow dimly.
Here on a flat rock
lie scattered remnants of the day’s activities:
a map traced in rainbow squares,
the colored stones of a
jenadha game,
and several pieces of a half-finished clay
about
eku, the truedark hour.
The
eperu are dream-dozing under a tree,
their
ñedsu curled asleep at their feet.
In the shadows, the tethered
rikka make soft herd-murmurs.
I haven’t been here for a long time.
I’ve missed this place.
The curve of the tree trunk embraces my back
as I lean against it, waiting for
the light of
ide and the bustle of day.
