Triple Helix
Scientists are building triple helix genes. These look really useful. (I've played with this topic in SF.) I'm particularly intrigued to see that the third strand is a different material than the first two.

PNA in SF
I was reading one of the Todd McCaffery Pern books a few days ago; did you know that the dragons have PNA? Funny it came up here....

There was an episode of the New Adventures of Johnny Quest about aliens with triple-helix genes. It took place on Easter Island.

The movie called "The Fifth Element" had a character in it whose DNA had a LOT more than even 3 helixes. More than 10, even. That character's DNA was so complex they used it to make an exact clone of her, complete with memories.
