The following poems from the October 4, 2016 Poetry Fishbowl are currently available. Poems may be sponsored via PayPal -- there's a permanent donation button on my LiveJournal profile page -- or you can write to me and discuss other methods.

There are still verses left in the linkback poems "Thinking River Thoughts" and "È Meglio Star Solo." Linking to this page will reveal new verses in whichever poem you request.
" Tour Guides for All of Knowledge" and "The Tornado Blew Away" are now complete.

"The Day of Their Calamity"
Your prompt about "THIS is a monster" inspired the free-verse poem "The Day of Their Calamity," which includes flashbacks to prior incidents along with Dr. Infanta's response to some of Israel's recent behavior. It's a bottom-ten country for sound reasons.
276 lines, Buy It Now = $138

"His Capacity for Self-Redemption"
A Dreamwidth prompt about Kincade inspired the free-verse poem "His Capacity for Self-Redemption." Dr. Bloch's CPR class turned into a long, detailed exploration of what education usually looks like in T-America with some accommodations for the prison context and individual needs of the students. There's even some discussion of challenges raised by ethnic variations, disabilities, and soup care.
888 lines, Buy It Now = $444
(Available for posting after "To Suffer the Selfishness" has been sponsored and published.)

"Honeybumping"
This inspired the free-verse poem "Honeybumping." Adalina ponders the implications of her superpowers and what she can do with them.
180 lines, Buy It Now = $90

"I Wish I Might"
A backchannel prompt from janetmiles inspired the free-verse poem "I Wish I Might." When a severely injured little girl wishes to meet a supervillain, one volunteer is brave enough to track down Render and ask for a favor. Flangst ensues.
212 lines, Buy It Now = $106

"Not Behind the Bars"
Your werewolf prompt inspired the free-verse poem "Not Behind the Bars." When a traveling menagerie comes to the village, trouble ensues.
312 lines, Buy It Now = $156

"The Strongest Souls"
A couple of Dreamwidth prompts inspired the free-verse poem "The Strongest Souls." Cassandra has a few scars from self-injury, and still struggles with urges to hurt herself. Groundhog helps her cope.
386 lines, Buy It Now = $193

Morticia! You spoke Italian! :like:

Re: Boosts

? I wrote this in reply to your comment as it came in my email, and expected it to show up here. Wonder why it didn't.

:-D
Except I'm more Gómez than Morticia: I'm an XY. (Well, can't be sure about Gómez.)
Or did you mean our hostess?

Re: Boosts

No, you; I didn't even think about flipping the gender to match... though I taken it you would've gotten it had I done so?

Re: Boosts

If that's a quote, I don't recognize it.

Re: Boosts

Oh. Okay.

"MORTICIA! You spoke French!" -- Gomez Addams, who, being sapiosexual, gets excited when his wife shows off her linguistic prowess..

Re: Boosts

Ahhh... Makes great sense to me. I'm also turned on by intelligence, AND a serious and professional language geek :-) and thus empathize completely!

Re: Boosts

I'm sapiosexual too, and captivated by language.

Okay, where are we on epics? Because that saga on Kincade needs some love, but if we have stuff in the queue....

Am considering doing *matching* on "Self-Redemption"... I had thunk about another $200 through EOY, and that would get me my story and you more and perhaps different donors... winner. What say you, milady?

Thoughts

>> Okay, where are we on epics? <<

There are two open epics, both in Polychrome Heroics. "Holding Hope and Love" needs $70 to be complete. "A Hope and a Promise" needs $214 to be complete. So there is one slot available for a new epic whenever someone wants to launch that. I would prefer not to have all the open epics in Polychrome Heroics, but ultimately it's up to the sponsors.

There are 16 unpublished poems in Shiv's thread. So that's going to be the half-price sale for November. I expect there's enough to activate the quarter-price option, given the number of poems and the fact that some are mega-epics.

>> Because that saga on Kincade needs some love, but if we have stuff in the queue.... <<

"To Suffer the Selfishness" (620 lines, $310) comes before "His Capacity for Self-Redemption." Both of those show Dr. Bloch teaching a class of inmates, but the tone is totally different. The first is an example of why he's not a safe person to piss off, and the second shows how T-American education tends to use diverse methods to engage all the students.

>> Am considering doing *matching* on "Self-Redemption"... I had thunk about another $200 through EOY, and that would get me my story and you more and perhaps different donors... winner. What say you, milady? <<

That would be awesome. :D Matching does seem to encourage other activity.

Re: Thoughts

Oooh, quarter-price option. Perhaps we do "Selfishness" on that, and *then* match on "Self-Redepmtion" as a $winterholiday drive. Moo ha ha.

Re: Thoughts

Both the November sale in Shiv and the holiday sale for all the 2016 stuff should have the quarter-price option.

"To Suffer the Selfishness" is $310 now, $155 at half-price, or $77.50 at quarter-price. Spend a hundred in mid-November and you'd have $22.50 left over for other poetry.

"His Capacity for Self-Redemption" is $444 now, $222 at half-price, or $111 at quarter-price. For that one, you'd still need to send $100 to access the quarter-price rate, but the matching means that as people chip in, your funds can be shifted from all on the same poem to covering other stuff if "Capacity" gets funded.

This will be fun. :D

*Steps forward*

This sounds good to me, too. I should have some money to contribute then.

My usual approach, which seems to match yours, is to sponsor poems that unlock other poems, in the name of increasing the options other sponsors might have. Even if I toss in enough to get quarter-price by myself, I still would enjoy teaming up. We can exchange comments when the list gets posted, if you like.

Woo, just tag-teaming looks like we've a whole string of'em... though I wouldn't mind a bit getting a serious dogpile going... ;)

Go for it. You'd have to work pretty hard to run out of poetry. ;) But that's okay, I can always make more.
