By synchronicity, Tuesday's theme in my fishbowl will be alternate history. Feel free to look up another linchpin in this timeline, preferably with a reference link so I'll know what it's about.

*chuckle* I did take one look at that poem and think that I'd found your home timeline.

Reading your note here, it occurs to me that there's something else which could be done with crowdfunding. Suppose a patron, rather than a creative person, wanted to make a project. They could do it by establishing a context and then requesting it from a bunch of different people, and adding up all the "from my prompts" stuff. I think it would need to be something like this "China and Italy become allies" example -- simple to explain, easy to pick up at any point without having to know a lot of continuity. That would make it possible for new creators to jump in and produce something good that would reasonably fit. It would be a whole new way of creating a shared-world project. The results could be collected and shared by the patron, much the way creators often create a landing page for a given project or setting.

Huh, I should think about doing that myself. Schrodinger's Heroes is fun but too specific for this approach. I'd need something more accessible, yet still with an attractive central theme. I know lots of people who do prompt calls.
