Poem: "With Respect to Fwoosh"
[info]haikujaguar has sponsored the poem "With Respect to Fwoosh" ... which is appropriate, since it was inspired not only by her poetic prompt but by her artwork.

With Respect to Fwoosh

What does it mean when your hair blows in the wind?
That depends on the culture from which you come.
For a human, it could be a fashion trend.
For an elf, it means you’re feeling frolicsome.
For a dwarf, alas! You’ve gone around the bend.
For an alien, you’re dancing to love’s drum.
Whether on painting or statue or cartouche,
Only one word says it all, and that is: fwoosh!

I have advertised! I should have done that for the Fishbowl, but your post went up right around when my day got the most hectic. Mph.

Thanks for the pointer. It's been an odd fishbowl -- didn't get it started until lunchtime, because the net was down; then it took over an hour to get any prompts. Then I got plowed by two poems each over 500 words. Whee...

By all means, please add me as a friend! I'll add you back when I get the little LJ note.

Yes, there's a lot of back-and-forth traffic between here and [info]haikujaguar's journal. We've been friends for many years, and we not only enjoy each other's work, we've helped inspire some of it. *chuckle* Maybe we should just hang a bridge ... one of those nifty rope bridges with the plank walkway and macrame sides, perhaps.

Oh, if I had the time I would so draw that. -_-

Good lord, now Ruhi has its sketchpad out, muttering something about a pot and a net.

I have to ask.

Ruhi shows me the sketch: a round-bellied pot with two tall necks connected by a macrame bridge. "It's a cherry-twins pot," the artisan explains.

olmiki (verb) – In Whispering Sands use, the denotation is of things growing ripe together, specifically the relationship between them. This is a picturesque way of describing the relationship between people who have grown up together and are very close. In noun form it’s olmikim and a colloquial translation would be “cherry twins” or “two peas in a pod.” Then there’s olmikânim, for people who behave like olmikim but met later in life.

Evidently Ruhi thinks this is cute. O_O What next...?

My brain took "pot" and "net" and came up with a friendship neti pot. Where someone else pours the salt water up your nose, I guess? Heh.
